*yawn*

Well they ended up getting the Modern Warfare 2 maps working and downloadable yesterday. I will still be waiting a bit before I get them.

I can hear all the fanboys sobbing when they realized there are no golden guns and not new camo like the rumors said. Oh and you actually had to pay for the maps. Yes, there was a rumor they were going to be free. *snicker* As if Infinity Ward and Microsoft were going to let us get away with that. Someone I know was all excited about the brand new map Overgrown. Of course I had to explain to him that is actually an old map from Modern Warfare 1.

I haven't been playing the last few days. I have been having pregnancy discomfort and just couldn't concentrate.

My friend finished Heavy Rain and will be sending it to me. *squeal* That saves me $65 and I get to play a cool game.

I was just looking at Final Fantasy XIII and if I was going to get it, I'd buy it on the PS3 over the 360. The 360 will compress those graphics and totally detract from the beauty of the game. The PS3 can handle that sort of information overload. The Xbox can't.

Mass Effect 2...

I downloaded the Firewalker DLC and played it. Sure it was short but what do you expect for FREE! I do like the hover tank and I really hope they implement it in future DLC.

I am almost at the end of the game so I stopped playing. The Kasumi DLC is rumored to be coming out next week so I am stalling, yet again, so I can add her to my squad before the suicide mission. Plus I need the cash from her mission so I can buy the last couple of upgrades I need.

It's going to be kind of sad when I finish this. I'll have to wait until Mass Effect 3 and that will feel like forever.

I did start the second novel. I found it hiding on the shelf in hubby's armoire. So far it picks up after the first game leaves off. I haven't gotten that far into yet to really tell what the storyline is about.

Guys!

I have a natural aversion to males 18-24 because the majority of them are pompous know-it-alls that can't admit they don't know something. I dealt with them when I worked with exotic animals and now that I am in the gaming world.

Had an argument today with one, 20, about lagging and lag switches. We all know Halo 3 was the worst about the lag switches. Anyone that has played it has come across it. It sucks. I quit playing because of the cheating, oh and the males on there. I have never come across a game that has a bigger group of jerks playing it. Anyway, he said all multiplayer games have lag (true) and all are due to lag switches (untrue).

I found found with the newer multiplayer games the lagging can be contributed to international servers. If I am in Modern Warfare 2 and some guy disappears from my screen, a quick look at his gamer profile will place him in Europe, South America or even Japan. No surprise there since you'd have to expect data lag. Easy to fix, leave after that game is over and have it find a new server for you. Same goes with many games. 99.9% of the time is an international server, the rest is someone needing to reboot their router to refresh the ISP.

This kid, in my own home, told me I was wrong because he has seen lag. Yes you have young one because there is lag. I asked him if he had bothered to research why the person was lagging, like where they were from? No, but he knows better than me because he knows. He played SOCOM on PS2. *face palm* Really? That means your psychic? Wow, I need to play that.

My husband and my 16 year old daughter told him I was right since I thought them the trick and he is still arguing with me about it with no proof on his side. Yes, I am sure lag switching does happen but not to the extent it does on Bungie's servers and if you can't be bothered to see if you ended up on a London server, just stop arguing. I know I am female and I have a vagina but that does not make me an idiot. I've been playing longer than you've been alive.

Okay rant over.

So they have released DLC for Bioshock 2 multiplayer, or should I say they are allowing you the right to purchase a key and unlock it since it's already there. Needless to say people are angry and rightly so. Not because the data was there but because it really doesn't do anything to change or improve multiplayer. I'd would have liked to have seen new maps or something. Not weapon upgrades and masks. I don't even care about the 2 new characters. I'll skip this for now.

Modern Warfare 2 will not be getting my hard earned money anytime soon either. Sorry but I don't want to pay $15 for 3 new maps, 2 recycled maps and a game that is so riddled with flaws and holes that it takes the fun out of it. Too spendy for a company that has failed epically this time around. Fix the issues and we'll talk about my cash.

I did download the free DLC for Mass Effect 2 but have been too bust to play it. I had some doctors appointments, sorry, don't hate me. It's all a part of being pregnant. I don't like it much either but I have to be healthy. I did peek at the hover tank and I like it. It also appears there might be some more DLC for the tank in the future. I am just lead to believe it though I could be wrong. Next week it's rumored Kasumi DLC will be out for purchase and yes, Bioware will be getting my money for that. I will gladly fork over the dough. This is a great game and they listen to their players, no matter how misguided we are. They have hinted at more "premium" DLC in the future and I can't wait.

I still can't find my second Mass Effect book. I need to go buy another copy today so I can actually read it. The third book is due out in July too. *grin*

So to all the young know-it-alls, listen to your elders even if we are female, we might actually know something you don't. Shut up, listen and learn. Maybe if you did my daughter wouldn't have dumped you. Just saying...

Rip off?

Microsoft released the "Game Room" today. At first glance it's pretty cool. You get your own "arcade" to decorate and tweak with things you earn from playing the old arcade/Atari 2600/Intellivison games they have loaded on Xbox Live. There are some oldies but goodies in there. You can challenge friends and junk. However, each game is 240 points. Now I am not sure how much of a bargain that is. We are talking about really old games, most Xbox users weren't even alive when they were released.

Basically this is reminiscent of the "Family Game Night" room they released before. That was a total rip off, 800 points per game is steep.

I'll have to debate what I want to buy or even if I want to buy any of the games. I have a friend that has loaded it and I'll get his opinion on it.

Oooooomore Mass Effect 2 DLC

I was just watching X-Play on G4TV, great gaming show by the way, and they were talking to some of the guys from Bioware. They said that there will be MORE big DLC packs for Mass Effect 2 in the future. See? Now I never want to finish the game. This is torture. Yes I know the game doesn't end after the last mission, provided you don't die but, but, but...I want it all to be done when I do that final mission. I will be playing this until Mass Effect 3 comes out.

Again, this is one of the best series' of games I have ever played and I have been playing longer than most gamers have been alive.

Mass Effect 2 DLC

The Firewalker DLC for Mass Effect is being released today, for free with activated Cerberus accounts. I am so excited but guess what? Xbox Live is down. I was in the middle of transferring my gamertag from the secondary console to the main on in my house and Xbox.com sign in died. So now my gamertag is floating somewhere in the ether, in limbo, and I can't do anything.

Mass Effect 2 will also have "premium" DLC available next month for 560 Microsoft points. It will contain a new character, the thief Kasumi, a new loyalty mission and a new achievement.

Dr. Pepper still hasn't fixed their website to include the Battlefield Bad Company 2 DLC with their cap codes. I am sitting on caps waiting. They need to hurry that up!

So Michael Ironside plays Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell. He pops up in the oddest places doesn't he? All these years and I never noticed it was him. Michael Dorn cameos in Mass Effect 2 too. Well, Worf playing a Krogan isn't much of a stretch.
Anyway, the new Splinter Cell looks pretty sweet, more my style. I never thought much about the other versions.

I was going to start the second Mass Effect book but it has mysteriously disappeared. I put it in a place I knew I could find it and of course, it's not there. God forbid my family should just not touch stuff. I ended up having to read about Marie Antoinette being beheaded. Don't get me wrong, I love non-fiction and history books but I was in the mood for light reading.

I didn't play any games at all yesterday because I was working. It'll probably be the same thing today too since I don't even have access to my gamertag anyway. *grumble*

M1A1 Garand!

Yay! I got it this weekend on Battlefield Bad Company 2 and It's nice to use. I need a scope for it though. I did notice that the stats page on their game menu is odd. I have had the defib pads unlocked all weekend but last night it told me I just unlocked them? Really? Hmmmmm. Oh and can I tell you how satisfying it is to sneak up behind an enemy and zap them with those pads? I love the way they just sort of get stiff and fall over. Totally fun and makes me giggle like a mad woman.

I still love me the UAV copter. I love taking out the big copters with it and I totally love the anti-tank mines (on the right map). Spent a good portion of the weekend making enemy tanks randomly blow up. *grin*

I still don't have Battlefield 1943 listed in my game because they haven't fixed that issue yet. Soon hopefully.

I did manage to use a Dr. Pepper code and get that last visor for Mass Effect 2 I wanted and rumor has it the new DLC missions will be out tomorrow. That is what I have been waiting for. I have been stalling playing because I wanted those missions first. I have decided I need to play Mass Effect again in renegade mode and then play Mass Effect 2 to see the differences. I can't help it. I love this series.

Rumor has Gears of War 3 coming out next year. Looking forward to Fable 3 this holiday season and I am going to be broke because there are so many games coming out I have been dying for.

I need to send hubby out for the April GameInformer since we didn't get it.

I finished reading the first Mass Effect book. If you have played the game or are planning on it, read this book. It totally leads into the game and it was fantastic having a back story. It's a decent book too.

FINALLY!

I finally got my Veteran status on Battlefield Bad Company 2, however, I still don't have my M1A1 Garand unlocked because they still have fixed the issue with 1943. It still won't recognize anyone has played it. I got 100% completion on that dang it. I want my gun! *stomps foot daintily*

I am eyeballing buying and downloading Battlefield: Modern Combat 2. It's $20 on the Xbox Marketplace but I think I'll see if I can get it cheaper on eBay since I am not sure I'll play the mulitplayer but the single person campaign appeals to me. Decisions, decisions.

EA and Dr. Pepper are doing a gaming promo too. You can get codes from the Dr. Pepper bottles that have EA on them and use the codes to redeem DLC for games like Mass Effect 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Spore, Sims 3 and Battlefield Heroes. I have all of them for Mass Effect 2, finally figured out how to get the Sentinel Interface last night and now I am collecting for Bad Company 2 DLC now. *grins big geeky gamer grin*

Okay, I blew off a big chunk of work yesterday so now I have to make it up. I'd like to play tonight so....bye!

A little off topic

I like movies. I admit it. I adore old movies, the classics, the movies that didn't have fancy special effects and needed to stand on their own merit. I love animes and blockbusters. I hate Twilight. *There I said it. Hunt me down, I don't care* Vampires are not wussy little sparkling, vegetarians. *eye roll*

Anyway, one of my favorite anime gods is Hayao Miyazaki. I love his movies. I love the fact the still does hand animation in the world of computerized animation. He is so talented and his movies are wonderful. I need to get all of them on Blu-ray now. If you haven't seen Spirited Away *what rock have you been under*, Kiki's Delivery Service or Ponyo, go out and rent them. Awesomeness at it's finest. Mr. Miyazaki I bow humbly before you.

Interesting thing I learned on Battlefield Bad Company 2 last night, if you are playing Rush and the whole opposing team drops out, the game doesn't end. *lol* It was 3 on 3 and we took the first couple of bases pretty quickly. We DID have two tanks so they really didn't have a chance. Well, they dropped out so we thought the game would end...nope. We went down and captured the next 2 bases without resistance. Then down to the next 2. Finally at the final bases we gained a 4th and an opposing team miraculously appeared. We ended up taking those bases eventually too and winning. It was actually pretty funny from where we stood. I wonder what would have happened if the attacking team dropped and we were the defending team. You can't end the game without killing the attacking team a certain number of times so would we have been stuck there or would it have ended by default since we didn't have anyone to defend against?

Still on BFBC2

I played some more last night and again way too late. Hubby and I were on with Chris and having a blast. I really like the fact we can mess around with stuff in the game and still be able to win.

I find something I couldn't stand but it has to do with the players more than the game itself. We were on a map in Conquest and the opposing team would hop in an Apache helicopter and sit in our spawn, killing us instantly. I think a nice tweak to make it impossible for vehicles to go to spawns would be nice. We have "combat zones" in Bad Company 2 and if you go outside them you have 10 seconds to get back inside or you die. Why not subject vehicles to a stricter zone?

I saw this today on the web: "Over 2.3 Million Copies Of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Have Been Sold" http://tinyurl.com/ye47kuv. Not bad for a game most people dismissed as being inferior to Modern Warfare 2. Guess what folks, Modern Warfare 2 is inferior. *Do I hear those torches being lit again?* I know several people that sold their copies of Modern Warfare 2 in favor of Bad Company 2. Sucks to be Infinity Ward right about now.

A friend called me yesterday and said I had to get Heavy Rain. I have been eyeballing it but I wanted personal feedback from someone. Of course if I wait, he'll mail me his copy and save me $65. Hmmmmm what to do, what to do.

A message to DICE

Please can we have a regular team deathmatch for Battlefield Bad Company 2. Don't get me wrong, I like squad deathmatch but I'd like to be able to play with more than 3 friends and not have to kill them.

Thank you!

Soooo tired

Hubby went and grabbed his stepdad's copy of Battlefield Bad Company 2 so we could play together. His stepdad is a trucker so isn't home right now. Anyway, we shouldn't be allowed to play together because we stayed up entirely too late. We were having a great time playing with some friends. I did manage a few "dirty" kills, like getting the achievement for running someone over with a helicopter. Yes, I swooped down and ran them over. *hee hee*

The more I play it the more I like it. I will say getting the pins and awards is more satisfying than the call signs on Modern Warfare 2. Plus you can get more than one of each and it keeps tabs of how many you have earned and why you got them. Weapon unlocks are great too. You unlock scopes as a separate perk so once it's unlocked, you can use it for ANY gun you have unlocked. You don't have to go to each gun and work on it until you unlock a scope like you do in Modern Warfare. It's a pile of awesomeness!

Today will be a day of working and cooking. Plus a trip to the airport to pick up the oldest.

DICE, great job!

I got to play more Battlefield Bad Company 2 multiplayer yesterday and let me just say that DICE did a great job. I am enjoying the game plus even if it seems like I am dying a lot, I don't get frustrated with it. It's still fun.

I tried all the game modes and I'd have to say that Squad Rush is probably my least favorite. The odds are with the attackers not the defenders. Basically you have a "squad" of 4 players against another squad of 4. There is one MCOMM station the attackers must get to and blow up. If they succeed it falls back to another point and it all starts over. After playing a few rounds it was glaringly apparent that the attackers have the advantage. Basically, if you are capturing the MCOMM, you are almost guaranteed to win. *shrugs* The general Rush mode is better since you have about 12 people attacking and 12 defending. You get better odds of winning a round on either side.

Conquest is your basic capture the flag mode. The round I played had 5 flag points. Both teams start with a certain number of points and how quickly the points countdown depends on how many flags your team has. More flags means slower countdown rate. First team that hits zero, loses.

Squad Deathmatch is a harder mode to win but My friend, Chris, and I got into a squad with another guy and between the 3 of us, we dominated several rounds. There are 4 teams of 4 and you need your squad to have the highest number of kills. It's harder to stay alive since you have 12 people trying to kill you. *lol*

Infinity Ward can't even touch the fun and great design DICE pulled out. Let's hope Treyarch can put some life back into the Call of Duty series because as of right now, I am seriously considering selling my 2 copies of Modern Warfare 2Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and buying a second copy of Battlefield.

Monday, March 15, 2010

Seriously Infinity Ward

1200 Microsoft points for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map pack? That's a bit steep and considering you can't be bothered to fix the problems that are already in the multiplayer, I am just not compelled to pay you for more issues. The map pack is being called the Stimulus Pack and will include 3 new maps as well as 2 maps from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Crash and Overgrown). I'll have to think about whether or not I want to even bother. I prefer Battlefield Bad Company 2's multiplayer. Yes, the husband actually let me play yesterday. Granted he was out running errands for me. Why no, I didn't plan it that way. *innocent eyes*

Is it wrong?

My 3 year old is obsessed with the game Castle Crashers. He can play it and beat the bosses by himself. I am glad he has such great hand/eye coordination and motor skills but is it wrong he's better at this game than me?

The husband has been playing the Battlefield Bad Company 2 multiplayer. I haven't even had the chance to really play it. I am on the hunt for a VIP code for his gamertag now so he can play the exclusive maps and get the new content when it comes out. It is a pain that DICE decided to make the codes per gamertag as opposed to per Xbox console like normal. Of course they mention making VIP codes available for purchase but haven't yet. So now I am scouring eBay. A little note to eBay sellers, answer your e-mails. I have a question out for a seller asking if he'd just e-mail me the code once I bought it. It would save him shipping it, shipping is free so all costs are on him. Has he answered me? Nope. Come on, this is a guaranteed sell.

More Dead Space last night after working. It is getting to be a little more challenging now. I had one little area to work out and died a few times before I figured it out. It's improving. Like I said, it's not that it's not a fun game it just doesn't seem to be anything special.

Okay, more work today and maybe, if I am lucky, I'll get to play Battlefield Bad Company 2. I beat the campaign 100% and found everything. Finding the guns is a pain but I did it. Now all I have to do is play online and try for those achievements. They don't look hard, just time consuming and I need the chance to actually play. Are you reading this, Honey? *hint hint*

Dead Space

I lied. I did not play Mass Effect 2 last night. I really want to but at the same time, I am trying to hold off until the new DLC comes out this month. Plus the new gun that is available for download needs to be loaded on the Xbox downstairs and I haven't had a chance to actually get on it.

Anyway, I played Dead Space some more last night. I am still of the opinion that it is just "okay" and not the spectacular game everyone hyped it up to be. I could just be jaded but...

So far the story seems convoluted and fragmented. I would prefer a little more cohesiveness.

Dead Space

Well the 16 yr old beat Mass Effect 2 last night so maybe I'll get to play it now.

I did play some Dead Space late last night. It's an interesting game but I don't find the story as absorbing at all. This is turning out to be a basic "find the monsters, kill them, do your objective" game and it's really not all that. Yes, I know, it got great reviews but I honestly think it's a little over-hyped. Oh and it just isn't that scary.

I'll finish it because I am not finding it so terribly boring that I will walk away. I have done that in the past with other games. It is also much better looking on the PS3 than the Xbox 360. Sorry but I have seen both versions and that's just the way it is. As a friend pointed out to me, PS3 doesn't have to compress the graphics the way the Xbox 360 does. I can just hear the Xbox fanboys heads exploding from here.

Was that a scream for torches and pitchforks?

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Really?

So I spent the day working after my long trip to and from Pittsburgh. Late last night the husband decided to make me play a little Battlefield Bad Company 2 multiplayer. That would have been fine if he had not also decided that sitting behind me and telling me what to do would be fun. I hate backseat gamers. They are as bad as backseat drivers. I ended up leaving the game and handing him the controller. Otherwise there would have been violence.

I probably wont game at all tonight either. Spent the day taking an unexpected trip to Cleveland for the 16 yr old. Her knee was excruciatingly painful, until we got home of course. Then she managed to walk to her boyfriend's house. *eye roll*

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Busy day, sorry...

I had to drive out to Pittsburgh today so I am getting a late blogging start. What can I say? It's a long boring drive complete with buffalo.

Anyway, I have been watching more of the GDC and this year seems to be focusing on app style games. *yawn* Sorry folks, I know you love your iPhones and iPod Touches but I don't like playing games on them. It's awkward and you just don't "get into" the game the same way you do on a console or computer. I am very disappointed. Oh well.

At any rate, I guess you app lovers are getting a Street Fighter game. This game was cool when it came out in the arcades way back when but I lost interest several versions ago. I am just not a button masher.

I started Dead Space last night out curiosity. Now the husband had borrowed this for the PS3 but returned it before I even had a chance to play it. Now it mysteriously showed up in my house for the 360 and I figured I had better play it before it vanished again.

Now people have lauded this as the scariest game ever. I'll disagree there. In my opinion, Fatal Frame was. That game scared the crap out of me. Try picturing a grown woman only playing the game when the house was fully lit and with other people home. Yes, it's that scary. I played Fatal Frame 2 and I guess there was a Fatal Frame 3 though I didn't hear about that one.

Sorry I went on a tangent there. Anyway Dead Space does high a high freaky factor. There are a couple of free add-ons you can download for the PS3 and 360 like a suit and gun. There are a tone of gun and suit upgrades you can purchase too though I only took the free ones. I am cheap, what can I say. I also watched the "comic" series they did before the game's release. Now that was way cool. It gives you the back story about what is going on and it was well written. I recommend watching it. It was free on PS3 and I believe it's free on Xbox too.

Shooting the weird creatures that pop out at you can be difficult. You can't shoot them in the head or body, you have to dismember them, limb by limb. Some of them only have 3 limbs and you'll need to take out two so that can be hard. Then there are the ones that fall out of the ceiling. They nailed the creepy noises and sense of isolation pretty well. The lighting also contributes to the eerie sensation when playing. All and all, very entertaining so far.

Okay I lied...

I fixed my internet myself this morning and yes, it was something stupid.

Anyway, the Game Developers Conference(GDC)started today and I will update this with any interest news that comes out of it.

Palm announced a new developers WebOS called PDK and 12 new games.

A new Battlestar Galactica MMO has been announced as well. Not sure about this one. I mean, let's face it, Star Trek MMO was a total flop as many MMOs are.

New game called Power Gig: Rise of the SixString for those Guitar Hero junkies. This will use real, stringed guitars and not plastic guitar-like controllers. Interesting and I am sure a hell of a learning curve.

True Crime from Activision is due out this Fall and people got a peek at it. I hope gamers will too and soon.

For you old school side scroller lovers, "Shank" is coming out. It'll be released on PSN, Xbox Arcade and PC. Supposed to be a little like Metal Slug.

Valve will be releasing it's Steam gaming service to Mac users. Now there is some good news! I am sure you are saying it's about time. This should go into effect in April.

No blog tomorrow

My cable modem died so no gaming tonight. Right now I am on my neighbor's wireless, yes with his permission, so I can work. I did start reading Mass Effect: Revelation. So far it's pretty cool. The story starts before the Mass Effect game and has characters I recognize from the game.

EA, I am very disappointed.

So we bought Battlefield Bad Company 2 and we have all really enjoyed the campaign. My 12 yr old wants to play multiplayer with his dad but guess what, EA doesn't allow anyone under 13 to play online even if the Xbox 360 account has no restrictions on it.

I read their rules very carefully and it clearly states that we can sign the TOS for my son, taking full responsibility, and he'll be allowed to play online. Can we find the TOS for parents to sign? No. Can we get any answers on how to solve this? No.

I mean seriously, can they make this any more difficult?

Poor James Cameron

I know that isn't a gaming title but that is what I did last night rather than game. Yes, I watched the Oscars and critiqued dresses. I am female after all.

King James Cameron could not get the 2 coveted titles, Best Picture and Best Director, with Avatar. He was beat by his ex wife in both categories. That had to sting. Now I have to rent The Hurt Locker because it looks fantastic.

Okay onto the gaming world: I can't remember if I mentioned this or not but it is BIG news in the gaming world, the heads of Infinity Ward were fired by Activision and IW will no longer be doing Call of Duty games. Treyarch will be releasing a Call of Duty title this year and is rumored to be Vietnam based. That has me a bit worried since there has never been a Vietnam War based game that has done well. Probably because we lost. If anyone can pull it off Treyarch can. I wonder if we'll get Asian zombies? Just kidding.

Sledgehammer will release a Call of Duty title in 2011 that will be "action adventure" based and not first person shooter. The heads of Sledgehammer created Dead Space so there hope it will be good. I think Call of Duty needs a change anyway and action adventure isn't a terrible thing. Maybe it will be like Uncharted and Uncharted 2, which are amazing games and if you own a PS3 they are a must buy.

In other news, the more I see of Heavy Rain, the more I have to buy it. Maybe this weekend. Hubby is getting 2 bonuses so we can afford to pick it up. My PS3 might not get the use my Xbox 360 does but the games I do buy for it are always the cream of the crop and it plays Blu-ray.

Gamer Geek squeal heard around the world!

I didn't get any gaming in at all yesterday and I probably won't all weekend since I'll have to fight with the kids for the Mass Effect 2 game.

That aside, as I sat in the doctor's office yesterday I got a text from G4TV. Valve, one of my favorite game developers, has announced that they will be releasing a Portal 2. I am soooooo excited. There are not enough o's for the end of that to express my excitement. Portal is one of my favorite games ever!

Portal is a first person puzzler. Seriously, that is the only way to describe it. You are in a test facility run by Aperture Science. The facility is controlled by GLaDOS the computer. You get a gun that makes portals and you work your way through levels, using logic. GLaDOS' dialog is rib cracking funny. At one point she gets mad at you and tells you no one loves you and you were adopted. Portal is connected to the game Half-Life. Black Mesa, the "bad" company in that game is even mentioned in GLaDOS' theme song.

I am curious as to how they are going to proceed with a second Portal considering the way the first ended but it looks like there will be a co-op mode this time. Now that will be fun!

There are a couple of ways to get Portal if you own an Xbox 360. You can download the game from the Xbox Marketplace by itself. This version has a few more achievements and some more "advanced" levels. Or you can buy The Orange Box and get 5 games for around $27. I highly recommend The Orange Box. It is a great game package and a fantastic deal. You'll get Portal, Half-Life 2. Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and Team Fortress which is an online only multiplayer game. The Half-Life games are wonderful and Team Fortress is fun but does have a learning curve.

I wonder if this means Valve is working on Half-Life 3 or even Half-Life 2: Episode 2. I know people are just dying to get their hands on that.
