Now this is one I didn't see coming.

Boy Scouts Offering 'Video Game' Merit Awards - AOL News

So the Boys Scouts finally caught up to the modern world. They are offering a video game belt loop and pin. Granted those are actually for Cub Scouts and it would be nice to see the older Scouts having to learn some of this since they seem to be the ones that are always gaming but it's a step. People are, of course, making fun of the idea but looking over what they have to do to earn the belt loop first, it's not a bad idea. If the parents aren't lazy, it can teach them moderation and responsibility.

It's a step in the right direction.

Infinity Ward Exodus Continues -- Three More Leave Studio, Two Join Respawn

Infinity Ward Exodus Continues -- Three More Leave Studio, Two Join Respawn

FINALLY!

Dr. Pepper and EA finally got on the same page and posted the Battlefield Bad Company 2 DLC on the Dr. Pepper site. I downloaded my 4 and the husband's 4. I haven't had the chance to check it out yet though I did peek at the guns and the camo is kind of cool. There are 4 new achievements attached to this DLC.

I haven't been playing at all really. This pregnancy is nearing the end and I am having a variety of pains and issues. I did get on and try playing Modern Warfare 2 last night. The husband and some friends were begging. I didn't do too bad but the spawns still tick me off. While waiting for them to end their match, I jumped into a match. The team I was put with was losing, it was on a new map and I was spawned 5 times in row, outside, to be killed by the copter. I never even got to move. *sigh*

Battlefield Bad Company 2 DLC

I just read that DICE finally worked out the issues with the Dr. Pepper DLC codes and the new DLC will be available tomorrow. However, European and UK players will have to purchase DLC through PS3/Xbox marketplaces. The Dr. Pepper codes are strictly US only.

Finally going to be able to do something with these Dr. Pepper caps I have lying around...

Lego Harry Potter

Lego Harry Potter years 1-4 is now available for pre-order. I am not ashamed to say I have been waiting for this. Not because I am a Harry Potter geek or anything but because the Lego games are just so much fun. Plus they are fantastic family games. Everyone plays them here.

They have always managed to mix humor in with the story and put little amusing twists on favorite movies. I have them all except the second Lego Indiana Jones. I wasn't impressed by the demo and it seemed to be more of a redo on the first one, so I figure I'll pick up cheap and used later.

Lego Harry Potter is being released in a regular and collector's edition. I'll probably get the collector's just because it's easier for me to get in my neck of the woods. I'd have to online order the regular edition. Oh and it comes with magnets and an avatar item for the Xbox. This is being released on every system and handheld device. That I like.

Time to move to PS3

My friend sent me his copy of Heavy Rain. Guess I'll be starting that game today or tomorrow. I am pretty excited about this one. It looks awesome. I love story driven games. Keeps me from getting bored and wandering off.

I also need to play Resistance Fall of Man, Uncharted and Uncharted 2. My games had been deleted so I never finished them. I guess it's time to dust off the gaming aspect of my PS3 and quit using it for a Blu-ray/Netflix/internet tool. It is an amazing piece of hardware, honestly. It's about time I stopped ignoring it.

Gaming how I miss you...

I have been so busy with work and getting ready for the baby, I haven't had time to game at all. Aside from the fact I haven't really seen a game that is screaming "buy me, play me."

I am watching the husband play Modern Warfare 2 on hardcore. Team killing seems like the new hobby on that game. After several games I have seen a trend of one person running around and killing their own teammates. The guy that was negative 800 so far was my favorite.

Maybe someone can explain to me what the appeal of killing your own team is. I didn't understand it in Modern Warfare nor World at War. Accidental team killing is one thing. Hell I've done that. This is purposeful. Seems like a huge waste of energy and ammo to me.

So I have Red Faction sitting here. Should I start it or should I go back to Mass Effect and see about getting the 60 achievement and play it on Insane as a biotic? Though I am not sure my blood pressure could take that. *lol* I could also go back to Mass Effect 2 and play on Insane.

DICE

I was just reading the article in GameInformer they did with DICE. I am even more impressed with how customer driven this company really is.

I am active on their forums and they really do post to them and read them. They listen to peoples complaints, legitimate or just plain old whining. They address issues and try to improve experiences. If they don't change something, they explain why they aren't and usually, it's a good reason. I shall stick with them on future games as well. I have now played 3 and thoroughly enjoyed them all.

Infinity Ward, what are we going to do with you? You've lost 6 rats off the sinking ship. You dropped the ball on what should have been a much better game. You ignored your customer base, took out party chat and are now subjecting people to abuse from some of your younger male consumers abuse. Then you haul off and charge $15 for a map pack that includes 2 maps people who owned Call of Duty 4 already bought. Now you are trying to sue and saying you didn't want to do COD games but through the other side of your mouth you are saying you wanted complete control and ownership of any COD titles in the future that are post Vietnam. Wow.

Finished Dead Space

Wow, what a let down. It was an okay game but it wasn't as great as the hype lead me to believe. I was actually at the point where I just wanted to get the game over with and I could care less about the characters. I could totally see the plot twist coming.

All and all, yawns-ville.

Gears of War 3

It'll be out April 2011 and I am super excited. I have been patiently waiting for this game. I sweat Gears of War 2 has the absolute saddest moment in video game history.

Anyway, here's the trailer: http://g4tv.com/videos/45298/Gears-of-War-3-Ashes-to-Ashes-Debut-Trailer/?quality=hd

There is a female COG! Yes, you read that right. Oh and in case you are wondering the song is by Sun Kil Moon and is called Heron Blue.

What to play?

So I beat Mass Effect 2. Now what? I don't see anything I own that grabs me and is begging to be played. Nothing coming out either than I feel I need to own. The end of the year is going to take forever to get here. That's when the games I want are coming out.

Oh well, I have been watching the Firefly series and OD'ing on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love having Netflix. Joss Whedon, Firefly was the BEST thing you ever did.

Mass Effect 2, I shall miss you

I finished the game today. I picked up the Kasumi DLC late last night and decided to go ahead and finish today. I managed to survive the suicide mission, bring back my entire crew and hit level 30. *woohoo* Massive achievement points. I am only missing 4 achievements now.

Game was fantastic. I opted to continue with this game rather than restarting a new one because rumor has it there will be more DLC. I'd rather use the same game and maybe earn enough cash for the last few upgrades I need.

The Kasumi DLC is worth the 560 points (Infinity Ward needs to make a note of the price). I was tickled to see my female Shepard all dressed up in heels and everything. It's a nice change from armor and tomboy wear. Kasumi is upbeat and I like her personality plus she gets a bar in her room on the Normandy. I recommend mixing the 2 beverages available before drinking for a really fun woozy time.

I will now be forced to finish Dead Space so I can get my Left 4 Dead 2 back. I need to complete the campaign on it before the L4D DLC comes out.

I will be playing Mass Effect 1 again and then moving onto Mass Effect 2. I am even toying with the "Insanity" mode.

I want Mass Effect 3....NOW! *stomps foot*

Mass Effect 2 Kasumi

The Kasumi DLC is supposed to be released today for Mass Effect 2. I keep checking but it's not up yet. I am not being very patient but can anyone blame me? A new crew member and I want to finish up the storyline. I've been holding off, waiting to add her to my crew.

I haven't been on playing much, I am sorry. I have been so busy. I did download one of the Wallace and Gromit games from the XBL marketplace. I played about 5 minutes of it and realized it's not an easy game to play. I'll have to wait until I can give it my undivided attention.

I still haven't bothered with the Modern Warfare 2 map pack. The husband wants it so I'll have to break down and get it eventually but I am still torqued I have to buy two maps I already purchased with Modern Warfare.

Microsoft released and update today for the Xbox 360. It is supposed to be the USB memory update that will allow people to use USB drives as memory cards, if I understand it correctly. Well gee, it's about time. Sony and Nintendo have already had that or something similar with SD cards. It does always seem Microsoft is running behind on things sometimes. They do have the best online voice communication but...
