Okay I will concede...

So I was discussing the Mass Effect movie with my husband and he did point out that if they could somehow get Joss Whedon to make the movie, it would probably work.

I will concede that. I just don't see how they are going to make a Mass Effect movie and not make it sucky and CGI hell.

They are also talking a Lost Planet and Uncharted movies. Okay, Uncharted would work because it's so Indiana Jones meets Tomb Raider. Lost Planet? Not so much. Personally, I didn't really like the game so I can't even begin to think about plunking down money for the movie.

*sigh* I am so depressed...

Oh good God NO!

Why? I mean it, really, why? Why would they make a Mass Effect movie? My favorite game of all time and they are going to make it into a movie.

Hollyweird is going to ruin it like they ruin all video game movies. *sigh* I might have to weep gently over my copy of the game.

Nosy me...

I decided to see if there were any Modern Warfare 2 updates regarding the map pack that is due for release. Imagine my surprise (disgust) that once again it will be $15, 5 maps and yes, 2 of those will be old Call of Duty 4 maps. I tried really hard to get excited when they first announced there would be 5 maps. I really did, honest, but I knew they wouldn't release 5 new maps. No that would make the $15 worth it.

I can't wait for Call of Duty: Black Ops. I am way more excited about Treyarch is doing this game and relieved Infinity Ward is not.

New Mass Effect 2 DLC

Oh joy, oh rapture, I get to play some more of my favorite game series ever. Bioware announced there will be new DLC for Mass Effect 2 next month. I am thrilled.

Here is the description:

An experimental and dangerous VI has been unleashed and is taking over any technology it finds to serve its purposes, including the Geth. Commander Shepard and his squad must infiltrate the VI's heavily gaurded fortress and shut it down before it can beam itself off planet and wreck havoc across the galaxy.

There will be 2 new achievements and 5 new levels. *squeal*

I was toying with the idea of downloading the iTunes Mass Effect Redemption series but if I patient and wait until June 2, I can just buy the paperback graphic novel.

Now the one I am really waiting for is the new novel by Drew Karpyshyn, Mass Effect Retribution. If this goes along the same lines as the other novels it will take place between games 2 and 3.

Game music, God of War 3, Dante's Inferno

I am in the process of downloading the Mass Effect Soundtrack. I am looking forward to listening to this while I work. It is amazing to me how game soundtrack are often overlooked by gamers. They have some of the most amazing music and you can really experience that 'art' behind the game. I will be grabbing Mass Effect 2 as well.

A friend dropped off God of War 3 and Dante's Inferno for the PS3. Both have amazing graphics but my husband said that God of War 3 is almost too amazing to play. He says it's one of those games that sucks you in and you can beat it before you realize it. So it is relatively short but very well done. I can't give an opinion since I can't even get one a gaming system in this house right now. I am bogged down at work and everyone is playing something.

Dante's Inferno is fun but I wouldn't call it game of the year or anything. The mythology behind it is interesting and hopefully people are bothering to read it. It seems like one of those games people will play without really paying attention to the storyline.

I also have Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks now. So far it's a lot like Wind Waker in game style. I can live with that.

Now I just need to evict this baby so I can sit in one place longer, allowing me to actually play.

AWESOMENESS x's 10!

A friend found a picture online that had the cutest Link outfit someone knitted for a baby. I showed it to some of my needleworking friends and commented how original and cool it was. *I don't knit though* One of them decided to knit it for me and didn't tell me. It came in the mail today and I am chock full of Geeky happiness! I could piddle, I am so happy.

It is soooooo cool! This is the site where the original picture was posted: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=315663.0

Halo Reach

So the Halo Reach multiplayer beta was released yesterday. So far, I am impressed. Graphically? Much better. The game modes look like fun. The maps are thought out and the game seems more balanced.

However, the jerks are still on. Halo has developed the reputation for being the online game that all the rude and crude teenage boys are on. Guess what? It's living up to it's reputation. The upside is, you can be in party chat so you don't have to talk to or listen to them. *Take notes Infinity Ward*

They still have split screen which is awesome. No need for me to buy two copies. Thank you Bungie for considering the effect on people's wallets.

Bungie migration

So the fanboys are crying and stomping their feet, infant style, about the Bungie migration to Activision. It's gotten so bad I am considering carrying a pack of jumbo Pampers around with me in case I talk to them. *eye roll*

People, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Bungie has said from the get go that Halo Reach was the end of Halo. No more. That's it. Done beating the dead Master Chief horse. I for one, am glad of it. Halo ODST was a complete let down. Sub par graphics and mediocre online play. Do you have any idea how many times I played the horde mode trying to get to that 200,000 point level for the achievement only to have the server kick me out at 190,000. I gave up. I walked away. Best thing about that game? Some of the actors from my favorite show/movie Firefly/Serenity did the voice acting. *grins*

Bungie wants to go in a new direction. They want to develop a new type of game (for them) and this is the best way for them to do it. Yes, they are a successful company but to do what they want to do they'll have to change their game engine, programming, everything. Activision has the resources and can give them the backing to do so.

So please, dry your eyes, change the Pull-up and act like the big boy you are. It'll be okay. Maybe you can get mommy to kiss the boo-boo and make it better?
